Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix is an Los Angeles native born on the 18th November 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix demonstrated a talent for athletics early on discovering her athletic abilities during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Ten weeks after the first time she tried out her skills, she placed second for 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Her first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by the 200m race in 22.18 secs. In 2005, she was the world's youngest champion in 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, beating her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top three in all of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
